PLUMP THROW PILLOWS

Decorative pillows are one of my favorite ways to freshen up a room. You can easily change your pillows up to add color, texture, style and even seasonality. Over the years I’ve shared many tips on how to change the look of your room by simply mixing up your pillows. But the key to designer level pillow pizazz is all in the plump!  How do you achieve the luxury look of designer styled pillows? Size and filling (yes that could also apply to cupcakes, but today it’s all about pillow talk)! In this brief video, I will give you the tips to create perfectly plump pillows!

If you are inspired for plumping practice, here are just a few of our Bridget Beari Home Store pillows to perk up your space. Toss a few into your mix and see how easily you can create a whole new look.

Turkish silk velvet takes our papillon to new heights. The butterfly motif remains timeless in interior design because of its ethereal beauty and representation of rebirth, nature and metamorphosis. An elegant winged creature in cinnamon, gold and burnt orange rests on an opulent greige background — both functional pillow and fabulous work of art.

I love to mix and match pillow shapes as well as textures and colors. Handwoven in Argentina of Argentinian sheep wool on a traditional loom, this softly nubby round pillow’s repeating starburst pattern makes a truly unique statement. Its rich, neutral brown works beautifully with other colors.

Upcycled fur from Argentine Patagonia has been handcrafted into luxurious decorative pillows. Each of these luxurious pillows is one-of-a-kind, dip-dyed for a beautiful and subtle ombre effect, then finished with cotton backing.

This saffron velvet “ball” pillow is where luxury and whimsy meet. Its plump shape makes it a playful conversation piece and the sumptuous cotton velvet elevates the design. It feels wonderful to the touch and might encourage a refined game of toss!

MIX & MATCH YOUR DINING ROOM CHAIRS

A design trend that’s here to say is mixing and matching your decor. We call it, ‘Living the Mix’! Creating contrast is always an important consideration in a well-designed home. When it comes to dining rooms, we especially love a mix of chairs for both functionality and fabulousness.

Depending on your intent, countless dining room chair options await. Perhaps you need side chairs that fit in a narrower space and you decide to add different head chairs that make a bigger statement. You may want to offer the table heads a more luxurious and special experience with different chairs. You may have to fit in a brood of kiddos and/or guests! Or, you may just love the mix! In the end, the only real rule is what works best for you and your personal style and needs.

Whatever your design goals, Susan will give you the basics to consider in terms of material and style for the most beautiful balance when mixing up your dining chairs. When you’ve decided on your mix, take a seat… and perhaps a bow!

Below are some of our favorite dining chairs to mix and match and we have much more at the Bridget Beari Home Store!

We love using our White Linen Hostess Chair with our white wooden wishbone chairs for contrast in material and shape. The white color ties them together beautifully. And the castors are so great for ease of movement and cleaning!

Another lovely upholstered option with a slightly smaller scale sculpted in natural linen fabric. Its gentle curves and neutral hue allow this elegant chair to mix and match beautifully with transitional, contemporary or modern dining chairs and furnishings.

These cognac color leather chairs take a bit of the past and reinterpret it for contemporary interiors and lifestyles. The gold metal base adds elegance to this slightly more casual, rustic contrast stitching so it mixes well with a variety of dining chair styles.

Get The Most Burn From Your Candles

We love the warm ambience that glowing candles create throughout our homes. I like to have seasonal and signature scents {Shop Bridget Beari Candles} that infuse fragrant familiarity and a warm, welcoming vibe year-round. Whatever your candle sense, there are ways to extend the life of your candles so that you can enjoy their fragrance and light as long as possible.

A brief video, sharing my main wax facts to get the most life from your candles: trim the wick trick, find your match, flame timeframe and freeze to ease!

Suggestions for best candle etiquette:

  • Don’t blow it! Use a candle snuffer to gently put out the flame, which prevents wax and soot from being blown around.

  • Reposition the wick to center while wax is still slightly warm to avoid smoke soot on glass at next burn.

  • Clean soot and wick debris from candle surface and glass with warm, soapy water for a more even burn.

  • Keep the candle covered with its lid between use to prevent dust.

  • Store candles in a cool, dry place away from directly sunlight and other heat sources.

  • And, most importantly, never leave a candle unattended!

While I could wax poetic all day on the delights of candles and their care, it’s time for you to practice your own candle etiquette. Below are some of my favorite scented candles that we offer at Bridget Beari Home Store. The Kyoto Quince is my home’s year-round signature fragrance when I’m not switching to seasonal scents. I love Moon Wisteria for fall and of course Winter Berry for the holidays! What’s your home’s signature fragrance?

Years ago, I fell in love with the KOBO collection of pure soy candles for their unique fragrances and environmentally kind manufacturing. Each is made with domestically grown and environmentally sustainable soybeans, which creates a clean burn and divine level of fragrance. I was excited to share them with my clients and customers and now they have become one of our most sought-after items at Bridget Beari Home Store.
