Q&A:
Joe from Richmond, Virginia asks:
Q: J: How do you know what color to paint a room? I like all colors and I can't decide. Help!
A:

BBD: Colors should reflect your personality as well as enhance the architecture of your home. For example, I enjoy working with color but the intricate crown, arches and large windows in my own home were such a focal point that I chose a cream color (Benjamin Moore color 942 marble white) to evoke a sense of classic elegance.

Other homes with less architectural detail need a pop of color. In this Atlanta home, the client's playful personality as well as her lively art collection were enhanced by the vibrant faux finished yellow walls (Benjamin Moore 296 good vibrations).

Take time to consider how colors make you feel and what colors would enhance the architecture of your home, your existing artwork and furniture. I believe there are no rules for color. Choose a color that will make you feel good when you walk in the room or add drama to the room. If you still can't decide then hire a professional designer to help you narrow down your choices.

Best of Luck!
